Spanning the Liffey
Named after the Dublin author James Joyce. His story “The Dead” is set in a house facing the bridge at 15 Usher’s Island.
One of two Santiago Calatrava projects planned for Dublin. The other is a larger and more ambitious structure, recently arrived from Rotterdam. It will soon be in place at Spencer Dock opposite Dublin’s new Convention Centre.

Dublinia Arch – Christchurch Cathedral

Dublinia Arch - Christchurch Catherdral, Dublin
Known as the Synod Hall Bridge or Dublinia Arch, this distictive enclosed bridge spans Winetavern Street, joining Christ Church Cathedral to the former Synod Hall.
It was built in the 1870s as part of a major renovation of the cathedral by George Edmond Street.

Royal Hospital Kilmainham – Irish Museum Of Modern Art

Built in 1684 as a home for retired soldiers, the Royal Hospital at Kilmainham was the first major public building to be constructed in Dublin.
The design, by Sir William Robinson, was based on Les Invalides in Paris.
